Nearly 20 years experience of teaching at all levels, public speaking and international paper presentation, giving interviews via newspaper, radio and television, and conducting scientific and academic research in the fields of Aerospace Medicine, Aerospace Biomedicine, Aerospace Biomedical Engineering, and Telemedicine.
My dream to learn about and to hopefully one day travel into Space began at aged just 5, after a visit one rainy afternoon to the Gavea Planetarium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and from that moment on I devoted all my time and energies towards learning about Astronomy and Space.
In summary, I studied medicine at the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil (1985), followed by 2 years in the USA at Wright State University, Ohio completing a Masters Degree in Aerospace Medicine (1991), before finally on to the UK to complete my PhD in Space Physiology at King's College, London (1998).
Founder and Coordinator of the MICROGRAVITY CENTRE, PUCRS, Brazil, a unique and internationally recognised reference centre of Latin America in the study of Human Space Physiology and Space Biomedical Engineering.
Associate professor at PUCRS, Porto Alegre, Brazil.
Visiting Senior Lecturer Dept of Aerospace Medicine & Human Applied Physiology, King's College, London, UK.
Guest scientist at the German Aerospace Centre.
Winner of many National & International Awards in the area of Space Life Science Research.
Published author of books, chapters, and 200+ scientific articles.

My involvement continues in many International projects & cooperations all over the world.
