If you tune in and see a blue screen – don’t panic – your computer is working! However, the link is only available when the space station is in contact with the ground, so there will be times of "loss of signal". Have patience though, and keep watching, you will be rewarded with some wonderful images.
The ISS orbits the Earth once every 90 minutes at speeds of around 27,000 km/h and thus, the astronauts will experience a sunrise or sunset roughly every 45 minutes. During periods of darkness at the ISS, the external camera will be looking into the blackness of space, but with luck you should also be able to catch some spectacular views of lightning or lights from the big cities on Earth.
