Long ago, the operating theatre was simply a non-sterile amphitheatre in which students and other curious spectators could observe doctors performing various surgical techniques. Nowadays, with the rapid development of communications technology it is possible for doctors and scientists around the world to perform remote operations – even astronauts participating in space missions. This is called eHealth or Telemedicine and was the starting point for Audrey Cotton’s OT, a series of performances in 3 episodes, occurring on different dates and broadcast live to an audience of 40 people lying down watching a big screen suspended up above.
We at the MicroG were very pleased to be involved with this creative process where science, technology, art and imagination were brought together and wish Audrey every success for the future.
